John “Burnie” Gillespie has called Southern Oregon home since he was born in Medford. He attended Grants Pass High School and Oregon State University. After four years in the Navy, he attended Southern Oregon College, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in business in 1977.
Burnie began his insurance career at Safeco in 1978. In 1980, he joined his father’s agency, House of Insurance, in Grants Pass, Oregon. He became part owner in 1984 and majority owner/President in 1996. He and his staff joined NorthWest Insurance Agency with the acquisition of House of Insurance in November, 2008, bringing many years of experience and quality customer service with them.
Prominent in the Grants Pass community, Burnie is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, Kiwanis, the Rogue Valley Symphony and the All Sports Park Board. In his spare time, he enjoys playing music, motorcycle tours, Corvette Club tours and wine tasting. |
